Wilma Florene Dooley, age 86 of Cushing, passed away on Monday, December 19, 2011 at her home in Cushing. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, December 23, 2011 at Euchee Valley Memorial Park, Cushing. Brother Ralph Hickman will officiate. Her grandsons and nephews will serve as casketbearers.
Arrangements are entrusted to Palmer Marler Funeral Home, Cushing.
Wilma was born on December 14, 1925 in Ripley, Oklahoma to the late Jake and Lillian (Kaufman) Dennis. She grew up in Ripley, Coffeyville, Kansas. and Cushing. Wilma married the love of her life Buck Donald “Don” Dooley on April 8, 1946 in Independence, Kansas. They were married for 65 years. She worked on a milk route for Williams Dairy for a few years, a surveyor in Ponca City and also cleaned offices at Midland Refinery. Wilma later worked at Wilson schools as a custodian for a year. She was famous for her “Aunt Bills” candy. She made the candy for all the men at the concrete company and numerous others.
Wilma is survived by her husband of 65 years Don of the home, sons Robert Dooley and wife Sandra of Ponca City, Richard Dooley and wife Karen of Cushing, brothers William “Bill” G. Dennis and wife Rose Marie of Cushing, Wayne Dennis and wife Arzella of Ripley, sister Morene Williams of Cushing, grandchildren Rance Dooley, Ryan Dooley and Maureen, Shaun Dooley and wife April, Mark Dooley and wife Stephanie, great grandchildren Samantha Dooley and Desire’ Dooley, Shelby Dooley and Griffin Dooley.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister Irene King.
